There's only a few more weekends left in this part of the world. So, we went out yesterday to our favorite anchorage to drop a hook and have some lunch. It was blowing around 15 knots, just the beginnings of white caps. We drop the hook and I put up our new magnetic knife holder and had our lunch and a beer. Then the wind started picking up. Of course it was in the worst direction for that anchorage. It was getting a little bouncy. So, we were finished with lunch, we raised the hook and headed for home. We were into the wind, around 20+, plus the current. I had to slow down to 7 knots to stop the pounding. The water was coming up over the bow and right over the pilothouse. The Pugs Tug preformed as expected, great. It took us a little longer to get home, be cause we slowed her down, but no issues at all. Just pushed on thru and we stayed safe. It took me two shots to get into my slip, but nobody was watching anyway. I see so many boats that seem to never go out. Why own a boat? I like knowing that this little 7,000 # boat can handle some snotty conditions. I'm not sure about the ocean, but I never venture outside anyway. I stay in the bay for the most part.
