Cruising Afognak and Kodiak Islands, AK

I was hoping that this group might be able to help with my planning for cruising in the Afognak and Kodiak islands this August. I will be transiting from Homer/Seldovia and I'm looking for any advice on good anchorages, fuel availability, fishing and crabbing areas. The area is quite remote and I haven't found a lot of cruising information out on the web. I recall seeing an R-25 hailing from Kodiak???? Could we open up an offline conversation to help me pull a plan together?

You might look for info among the sailing community. I know that quite a few sailboats transit that area every summer. There is a fish hatchery on Afognak that is a popular stop over. You may be able to contact the folks at the following link.
