Cupboard doors on R31CB

We hit some rough weather the other day, which the 31 handled beautifully, but the two forward cupboards that contain the sliding drawers popped open. The doors have magnetic latches but with the sliding drawers were not strong enough to hold them closed. I am mulling over a couple ideas to remedy that, but thought I would see if other people have come up with a solution before I install something goofy then see a much better idea. LOL.

On our 2010 R29 we put kids latches on all cabinets. Also, have shock cord in multiple places including the wine cooler.

I screwed in a pad eye at the top and bottom of each double drawer compartment, at the very front, centered, and just behind the frame. They don’t interfere with the drawer use at all. Before we head out into open water, or if there are significant waves for any reason, we hook a small bungee from the bottom pad eye to the top across both drawer fronts. They are easy to hook and unhook, and this has solved the problem for us. The smallest bungees in the assorted kits that we buy seem to be perfect. Even though I did this for both double drawer cabinets, we often don’t use the bungee on the bottom section because it seems to be the top two drawers that are the issue. I also used child proof latches. They worked great.

We have an R31 also....the first time that happened to us, I also scratched my head for the easiest and best solution..
Don't laugh, but as I searched my "basement warehouse" for solutions, I stumbled upon the 2 plastic "license plates" that advertise the dealers name on the car I recently bought (just picture a car license plate made out of plastic..).. I just slid them into the space between the drawers and the cabinet front and " VOILA" .... never had the problem again ! When you need to access the drawers it takes but a sec to remove it... if you are using the drawers a lot (usually not while underway) just slip it on the counter under the helm chair till needed again..
Any thin material roughly that size would work... not a fancy solution... but elegant in its simplicity !!!
