[*]we have an R 31 and I am wondering how the cupboards fair while trailering is there a special locking mechanism that people put on or do they managed to stay closed with the factory magnets

We have trailered our C 28 hundreds of miles and a lot on rough roads, not to mention rough seas. We've never had a cupboard fly open underway.

We have a R25SC and have trailered is a few thousand miles. Sometimes I think the highway is rougher than the Great Lakes. Never had a cupboard door come open. We pack carefully, the heaver stuff goes on the lower level and thus it is held in place with the lip of the cupboard.

A habit derived from our RVing days is to place a sheet of "Scoot-gard nonskid material" between each plate and bowl. This protects the plates and much reduces the chance of plates or bowls from sliding out of the "stack". With the plates fixed in place there is nothing to pop a door open.

Fourteen thousand miles of towing and no open cabinets. We do relocate loose items to safe areas. We remove the burner caps on the stove and that's about it.
