I have a 2022 Cutwater C32 C. I have been frustrated with the fish box filling up with water every time it rains. We use the boat to cruise, not fish, so the space is basically unusable. I was hoping that Fluid Motion would have a hatch cover that could replace the fish box to give additional dry storage space but, I was told by customer service that it was not an option.
I decided the only way to keep it dry was to cover it. I purchased Sunbrella® Marine Grade Cadet Grey Fabric that matched the windows and seat covers provided by Fluid Motion. Since I did not have a sewing machine that could sew the thick fabric, I used clear Gorilla Glue to seal the 2 inch hem around the edge of the canvas. I have used the glue for canvas before and found it can handle the wet environment. I purchased YKK Snads to attach the cover to the outside corners of the fish box insert and attached snaps to the canvas cover. This should prevent water from entering the fish box and channel the water to the scuppers. I will remove it when we are using the boat. The supplies for this project came from Sailrite.
