Cutwater 30 ocean certification

I would be surprised if Fluid Motion hasn't model tested or at least computer simulated their boats in extreme wave conditions. Perhaps they could tell us?

The main reason I posted this query on this string was to hopefully get a reply from Fluid motion. If the answer is "we have no clue," that's better than nothing. We can go on all day about trying to avoid the situation, and we all will do that, but that is not the answer we're looking for. If you think you'll avoid danger all your life by heeding forecasts, you're fooling yourself, and you'll not be prepared when things don't go as planned.

Since there's been no factory response in all this time tells me they likely never will, but any guidance as to their take on this topic would be helpful. Nothing we could hold them to of course, but their silence is no good to anyone.

We do not build our boats with the intent of being ocean going vessels. They are rated as a category C on the Cutwater 30 and are certified at this level.

Thank you,

Andrew, thanks for weighing in on this. Can you comment on the question about what happens if the CW28 (and 30 for that matter) ends up upside down? Is the glass designed to hold? Will it flop back over?

This is one of the funnest threads ever
I shall continue to do my best to keep Daisy shiny side up, and ...carry a flare gun in my holster
For that tsunami moment.

It certainly has been an interesting one. Got me to view a few videos on million dollar plus boats made to right themselves. I admit it has got me to think, but not dwell, on the “what if”.
Andrew provided the best response. I do not believe he can say more as there is no such thing as “will not hold them to it” in the legal world. I was once told the windshield has a strength rating for waves but I am sure our sliding windows are not rated to withstand much other than rain. And that is fine with me. Many of us have been boating in the rain.
