Cutwater Bottom Paint Recommendation

I have a new Cutwater and want to bottom paint it. Is it okay to go at it with sanding, applying a dewaxer (Pettit 95) and then two coats of anti-fouling bottom paint? Would doing this void any part of the manufacturer warranty?

A barrier paint should be applied before the bottom paint is applied. I can’t answer the warranty question.

Hi PrettyPiggy!

Just chiming in on the warranty side of things. No, bottom painting won't void your warranty in general, as long as you or the shop who does it does not damage anything in the process. It is expected that the bottom gets a light sanding before painting, so as long as it does not go too deeply. In other words, a light scuff is all that is needed. That won't affect the warranty.
