We went to the Monroe factory yesterday to see how our Cutwater 28 was coming along. The good news is, it's about done...delivery in the next couple of weeks. The better news is, the boat is nicer than we expected. The only 28 we've been on was the boat show model, which was also our sea trial model. The fit, finish and attention to detail on ours is impressive to say the least. Lots of small improvements, too. I apologize to you pessimists...there's no bad news.

We also ordered the first "taupe" colored model. Very nice as well.

We're looking forward to joining the Ranger family, even if we're only Cutwater cousins. 😀

Welcome aboard!

We've all been following the Cutwater developments with [fish] bated breath! Kindly, keep us up to date with your experiences. As you may have observed, many of us obsess on this forum over the tiny details. Consider photos if the forum master feels you are the marrying-type of cousin. As the major systems, navigation and engine are the same on the Tugs and Cutwaters, it seems we might be able to share information, here, very well! Eventually, I suspect there will be a Cutwater forum of its own, though.

Cutwater folks are more than welcome on this forum, and are encouraged to start photo albums. Just follow these steps:

1. Sign on to the site, if you aren't already.

2. Select the User Control Panel link from the upper left corner of any page. Note: On the home page, this link is in your user menu.

3. Click the Usergroups tab, then select the radio button next to the User Albums group.
Scroll down, choose "Join selected" in the drop-down menu, and click the Submit button.

Once you do this, an email is automatically sent to the administrator (me). That message will trigger my ability to approve your request, and you'll receive an email indicating your membership in the User Albums group has been activated.

And, there is already a comprehensive Cutwater forum built into the Tugnuts structure. You'll find it here. It's part of the Forum Index which is accessed via the blue Content box in the upper left of the homepage, or from the browse path under the header on other pages.

Cheers,

Bruce

AND Cutwater boaters are more than welcome to join the PNW Ranger Rendezvous in Bremerton September 9, 10, and 11th. Just let me know you're coming!

The June 2011 issue of PACIFIC YACHTING has a review on the Cutwater 28.

You want to get a copy. There is a digitial edition. http://www.pacificyachting.com.

Also -- article on MY yacht club in the same issue -- Royal Victoria Yacht Club -- celebrating the 100th anniversary of the "Royal Warrant". I wasn't at the original granting of the Warrant from King George V in 1911, I just sometimes feel like I was there. The Club is 114 years old.

Thanks everyone. More to come, I'm sure.

I know I'm not the only/first one with a Cutwater, but it looks like I'm the first one to post...come on you guys!

We took delivery of our 28 yesterday. It's been months of anticipation, as we signed the prelim paperwork at the Seattle Boat Show many months ago.

Andrew was a kind and patient mentor, and spent several hours with us going over the systems and basics on boat handling. My 20 years of owning four previous stern drive boats didn't make his job any easier! Thanks Andew....excellent customer service.

The smooth water made our first day no challenge, and I'll reserve comment on handling until I go out in something worth talking about. But on smooth water the boat is NICE!

Backing down a single screw inboard into our slip was a new experience. I did it a few times for practice and took full adavantage of the thrusters.

My wife and I spent the night on the boat, and it's really impressive. There are no regrets. There are a few small things to fix like any new boat. We'll post more later. In the meantime maybe some other CW owners can step up!

Congratulations on your new purchase! Have you signed up to come to the PNW Ranger Rendezvous yet? We have one other Cutwater coming and the more the merrier. Just let me know if you'd like to join us. See the link under Cruises for more information and watch Tugnuts for details after our next committee meeting in Poulsbo on July 2.
