CW28 replacement prop part #?

Hi there,

wondering what the replacement part # is for my 2018 CW28? I've found 3 on the ACME site with a 19 diameter and 23 pitch. I believe it's a right hand prop. There's a 1290, 1291, or 2318. Which is the correct one? What other spare hardware for a prop replacement should I carry, if any?

Hello Mike,

The prop we install on the Cutwater 28 is an ACME #2318 (19 X 23) 4 blade no cup. All of our inboard models are a standard right hand prop. You might carry a spare cotter pin as this is usually the one that finds a way to make it into the water.

Hi, ended up replacing the CW28 prop here on the east coast with a 19 x 21 same cup. Volvo
tested the boat and we never got over 3300 rpms on the orig prop. Now I can hit ~3600 at the beginning of the season
And still hit the redline at the end of the season.

Stuart, FYI, I did the test run with the Volvo Service guy and we got 3500 RPM and 27 kts out of it with full fuel and water, 3 pax...so I see no reason for me to change from the factory unit. Odd that you saw such a difference...

No have to practice getting used to $2K for a spare prop... :-( Always carried a spare in the past but I think I'll check on replacement lead times first...

You might check with Richard in Parts at Ranger Tugs to see what they have in stock. There have been times when they made a production change and sell the unused stock at discount. I picked up my spare R27 prop at less than half price that way. Not sure if there are any changes planned to the CW28.
