Anyone know what size bilge pump cartridge is standard on the Johnson SPX bilge pump on the CW30? I recall it is either 750 or 1000 gph - the labeling on mine came off a while ago and I need a new one. Apparently they are interchangeable so I could use either but the higher volume pump maybe requires a bigger fuse?

I checked the owners manual and the pump size is 1000 gph.

The Johnson aft bilge pump on my 2017 C30 recently died. Replaced it with a Rule automatic 800 gph pump(about $100) Recycles every 2.5 minutes to check for water. Don't know if that's a good or un-necessary function. Increased fuse from 5 to 7.5.

I ended up just changing out the motor cartridge which was pretty easy. I’m not a big fan of the sensing system that this pump uses but I’ll try to keep the sensing part super clean and free of oil residue. It does turn off much quicker when there is no oily residue on the sensor part. I should add that if the sensor part is not super clean it doesn’t turn off at all, or maybe I just don’t have the patience to wait. I’m sure that being run all the time contributed to having to replace this pump motor. Maybe I’ll go to the dripless shaft seal eventually.

I had a dripless shaft seal installed last winter on my C30. Love it, no more adjusting, constant water in bilge etc. Good investment IMO.
