D3 Air filter aftermarket High performance

The Volvo replacement filter is expensive and a throw away. It really doesn't seem to be that good of a filter. I did some research in looking for a direct replacement that is more substantial and reusable. This is one of the products that I found.

I have purchased the OEM filter for $90.00 and replace it every other year. The Walker filter is 40.00 more but reviews state better air flow and it is reusable after cleaning. I'm going to try this filter. We will be cruising putting more hrs on the engine this year as we continue our loop adventure. The additional cost will pay back easily in a year of cruising.

The Walker filter may flow better, but does it filter better??? The turbo tends to negate the effects of a filter that doesn't flow so well, but having clean air feeding the turbo/engine is more important in my book.

If you saw the Volvo OEM filter and compared it to the Walker filter there would be no question which has better filter characteristics. The Walker without question. If you looked at the construction of the OEM Volvo D3 filter and compared it to the Walker again no question about Walker being better quality. It is 40.00 more but also reusable.
