D3 oil change issues

Hi. We have a 2018 R27. Volvo penta D3. Diesel.
Winterizer did not change the oil. So I am. We have a 1 gallon per minute remco pump. We have a 6 mm hose into the dip stick opening. Barely pumping any oil. Maybe 4 inches up the line but has not hit the pump yet.
Am I doing something wrong?
Would love advice from my tugnut family!!!!

Dont Know about Volvo, but on my Yanmar I run tied to dock in gear about 1000 RPM, until the Oil Filter is to hot to touch then begin to suck out waste oil. Just did the Gen Set ran full load 25 minutes and had to be careful of the hot oil. One Quart took 5 minutes out.
 
Strongly agree with running up to temp first. This will also suspend any sludge that settled. Also suggest you use a vacuum extractor. Sometimes manual is better. That pump can't pull as much vacuum as the following:

 
So we need to have it in the water and run the engine til warm. Then change fluid with manual pump you showed.
I put this on the oil stick outlet per a mechanic at a boat shop up in CDA Idaho.
 
I also have the D3 200 in my 2015 R27. I use a Jabsco Oil change pump attached to the container. I do warm up the oil prior to the change and the pump works pretty good
but it's slow and it takes a very long time to pump out the oil. Close to an hour most times. And when it gets close to the end, I have to move the tube around down in the crankcase
to try to suck up all the oil. I like the idea of a vacuum hand pump. I might purchase one and give it a try next time. A diesel mechanic told me that's all they use
to do it.

You can run it out of the water if you feed the strainer more water than it needs and let the rest run out so the strainer is always filled. If you don't have a winterizing tee, you will have to take the cover off the strainer and run the water into the strainer with the seawater valve closed. Put a quarter turn valve on the water hose that you can use that to regulate the water flow. I also suck out the oil filter canister (only if you have the cartridge type of filter). I would limit it to a fast idle to be sure the water pump stays filled. I do this in the driveway. Easier if it is in the water. Keep track of what you remove and replace with like amount of oil, so you do not overfill the engine. You can never get it all out. This also flushes the engine with fresh water.
