I just changed the impeller on my 2015 D4-300 and got my replacement impeller through Pacific Power Group when we were at the last rendezvous. Their service tech asked for my engine's serial number as there are apparently two different impellers listed for D4-300 engines. He sold me the Volvo Penta impeller part number 3588475. My engine's water pump has the slightly larger rubber seal that looks like a snowman when installed. The replacement went well. This was definitely the correct impeller and seal for my engine. This impeller has 10 blades and the "snowman" rubber seal.
What I found is that in my previous impeller change, I must have installed VP impeller part number 21951356, which is for the newer D4 engines with a different water pump and a smaller rubber seal. This incorrect (for my engine) impeller was the same size, fit my water pump, but has 8 blades. I got 200 hours of trouble free service from the wrong impeller, but should have been suspicious when its new rubber gasket would not fit on my water pump. That time, I reused the old rubber seal.
I pass this on so you can learn from my mistakes.
