I am chasing down source of significant current in my bonding circuit. Where is location on engine of negative ground cable attachment? Circuit diagram shows it attaches to the negative bus. Are any of the green bonding wires attached to the engine in addition the two I see on the prop shaft?

Where are you currently measuring the current?

Are you disconnected from shore power?

Do you have a galvanic isolator?

When you measure the ground current what are you operating on the boat?

The one line in the Manual shows 3-conductors connected to the Ground Bus, one for the inverter, one for the house battery and a 2/0 to the engine.

This is based on the manual for a d4 320 or 300(?) Ranger does not note the HP of the boat in the manual (that I saw) CB31.

33 amps in green wire attached to bronze stern plate with engine running, shore power not attached, nothing else on.
I am looking for the point on the engine where the ground from the negative bus is attached. I had removed the jumper from alternator to the starter and ran a cable from start battery bank to the alternator (with a fuse) so alternator charges largest bank (house), not smallest (start). Blue seas says ACRs can flutter if largest bank not charged. This should not have caused an issue, but with the all everything electronic, who knows? Certainly not the local Volvo dealer.

local marine electrician found that the alternator was badly leaking output into bonding system; new alternator, no problem.
