Just got back from having the bottom painted on our 29. Turned everything off but there is still the sound of a electric motor running. I don’t see any water being pumped out and the engine room is quiet. It is the loudest in the head and the guest bedroom. Anyone have a suggestion as to what to open first. I shut off all AC & DC breakers and the sound was still there.

Pull the fuse for thr shower sump pump.pi

Possibly a float switch on the bilge pump?
I don't think they go though any breakers but are direct from the batteries.

Possibly one of the pumps? Shower sump or front bilge.
One of my grandchildren bumped the bilge pump switch on the dash and it was very difficult to see the little light on the switch. Couldn't figure out what it was until I played with the dash switches and found it.
Sometimes the shower pump switch/float gets dirty and that can cause it to stay on.
Just a couple of guesses based on past experiences.

Osprey and blue streak beat me to it!

Thanks I will start pulling fuses until I locate the one causing the problem.

Pulled the fuse for the sump pump and that did the trick. I will fix the problem. Thanks for all the input it helped.

I’ve decided to install A Whale Gulper with IC. I’m going to use a y connector for the AC lines and run the shower hose direct to the IC. It will eliminate the box completely.

Install has begun. Updates under owner customization

Excuse my ignorance, what is an IC? And maybe that is where I lose the install concept. What will turn the pump on automatically? I can see a switch for draining the shower when in use, but how will the condensate for the A/C drain without an automatic sensor or float switch in a basin catching the water?

No ignorance, whale makes a replacement for the standard sump pump box. Took me a long time to understand what the benefit was. Benefit is no screens to clean, very limited maintenance, no stuck float, install and done. It has a Controller IC and the pump. The controller acts as a digital float telling the pump when to turn on. Install it right is the key, had two do it twice to get it right. Things are tight on our beloved tugs so you need to be able to kinda stand on your head to remove the old box and install the new system.
