In my humble opinion, in the explosive growth being experienced in the "cottage industry" of recreational boating, it is paramount to locate and engage with a local dealer and its personnel that exemplifies the epitome of customer service. To that end, my recent experience:

Edgewater Yacht Sales, Palmetto, FL
Lorenzo and Emile,
I want to say that Pam and I are sincerely grateful for the service and support in your ensuring that our vessel has finally met the performance specification for the boat and the Volvo Penta D4 320hp engine. Albeit 21 months from the date of delivery of our new 2021 R-29, the issue was finally resolved with the “re-configuration of the prop by General Propeller in March 2023. The issue was originally identified by Suncoast Diesel, Sarasota in September 2021, and essentially was discounted by Volvo and Fluid Motion as a local (Florida) problem and disavowed themselves of any responsibility. But not Edgewater Yacht Sales and specifically Lorenzo Castro, your representative and salesperson. EYS, Palmetto, FL. Due to his efforts and support by Edgewater Sales and Emile, we now have a vessel that meets at least the minimum Volvo factory performance specifications. Of course, that is what is expected when a purchase transaction is initiated and concluded, but in this case would not have unless the staff of Edgewater Yacht Sales went the extra nautical mile. Thank you Lorenzo and Emile and you can count on us to spread the word and refer you and Edgewater Yacht Sales in the future. Please keep up the great work and customer support.

Garry,

I'm glad you have finally resolved your "issue" on your 2021 R29.

Being we have a 2022 R29S (we took possession 7/1, 2022), I'm a bit curious to what your issue was. You may have previously discussed your problem here on Tugnuts, but I didn't pick up on your post if you did.

Can you briefly explain what the problem was, as discovered by Suncoast Diesel, and how on God's green earth would a specific body of water (Florida) help create the issue..

Volvo D4 320hp engine would not reach minimum rpm at WOT of the range specified by Volvo. Two different Volvo authorized service centers said the engine otherwise was performing correctly and the problem was an incorrect propeller pitch.

I have been dealing with Trip Trubee of Edgewater yachts out of Pensacola FL. I agree about their professionalism and customer service and help. I will be buying a boat from them in the future.

And was it an incorrect propeller pitch? Not sure why the secrecy.

We drove from NC to Pensacola specifically because Emile was attentive to us before we were ready to buy. He spent time with us at a boat show (FLIBS) when he knew we were a few years away from pulling the trigger on a purchase. We bought our RT during COVID and right after hurricane Sally destroyed their marina. They made it work and we took delivery in the midst of them starting to reopen the offices. I’d go back to Edgewater for the next one, too.
