Hello Tugnuts!

It's time for the December Tugnuts Photo Contest! Every month we're giving away a pair of custom embroidered Ranger Tugs or Cutwater Boats jackets (your choice!)

To enter the contest, just send a photo and description or comment corresponding to this month's theme, to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com

This month’s theme is: Christmas Decorations! Let's see your boats covered in lights, decorations and whatever else you come up with to celebrate!

It’ll be put up to a vote by the folks here at the factory and a lucky winner will receive a pair of custom embroidered Ranger Tugs or Cutwater boats jackets. The contest runs until 11:59pm Tuesday 12/31/2019. We can't wait to see what you have to share!

Love that artwork, SlackwaterJack!

From John D.

"This is my R29-CB “Anna Mae" in the Tacoma Yacht Club 2019 Lighted Boat Parade on Dec 14th. I covered the entire boat with black material so only the nativity scene showed. My granddaughter, Sophia and grandson Connor, along with a baby doll from Goodwill played the staring roles."

"Merry Christmas! This is our boat in the lighted boat parade in Kennewick Washington. Elsa and Anna’s ride. The little kids loved it."

"Radio Active decorated for boat parade. Santa driving."

From Harry H.

"Twas the night before Christmas with everything snug, and nothing was stirring, not even a Tug.

When out in the driveway there arose such a clatter, I ran right out to see what’s the matter.

It was the Volvo-Penta someone had started, ready for a trip to places uncharted!

And then I beheld Santa in life vest, ready to board.

I saw he even had the tug unmoored!

So using “RedBird” he was able to deliver,

Packages to those who live on the river.

And let it be said that where Rudolph’s sleigh cannot maneuver,

Santa knows that Ranger Tugs for sure can deliver!"

From Gini and Colleen

"These are all of the display I have run on our Ranger Tug for the last 5 of my 6 years of Christmas boat parading — the display is a green fire breathing sea monster or dragon (opinions vary). This year it is on our 2019 Ranger Tug 31 sedan, instead of our 2013 Ranger Tug 27. The pictures vary from ones of my boat solo, to my boat in the parade with a few others (we have as many as 42 and can’t get them all in one photo), and includes both head on and side shots.

Having lots of good photos of our decorated Ranger Tug is a happy liability of being in the nation’s longest continuously running Christmas parade, in which the boats go out 15 nights each season. Plus we are now doing 2 extra nights to help out the boaters in Longview, Washington, who are starting up their own parade. For 2019, I paraded 19 nights, for a total of 382 nautical miles, 64 active hours at the helm, and 132 gallons of fuel. With all that parading, we manage to get a lot of good photos of our boats, by our own official photographer, as well as spectators on shore who sometimes share theirs with us. The one of our boat (Echo II) with the moon in the background was taken by a professional photographer on shore who shared it with me and welcomed me to use it for any purpose I might want. It is unique among the photos I’ve gotten over the years.

Thanks for the chance to share some photos with my fellow Tugnuts and with all the crew at the factory. Happy New Year to all!

From Justin L.

"Lit up my R-21 for the boat parade this year in Discovery Bay, California. We won third place in the small boat category but I think there were only 3 small boats. The real win was hearing all the onlookers from shore yelling 'I love your boat!'"

From Mike and Margaret,

"The photo below is the 25' Ranger Tug 'Maximus' at the Palm Coast Florida Boat Parade on December 7th 2019. There was 42 boats that participated in the parade with many spectators and a local radio station {99.5} announcing the name of the boat and the Captain's name."

The final results are in! The vote had a bit of a delay with our prep for the Seattle Boat Show, but we're ready to get the contest going again and we're excited to announce the winner!

Darn, I guess I don't have much chance of winning next year by throwing a lighted wreath over my anchor and calling it a day. 😉
