That would depend on your windlass. If it’s factory Lewmar 1000, then it’s 5/16. You may take the chain gypsy (the thing that the chain lies in that pulls the chain) to a chain dealer and have him fit the correct chain to the gypsy. Search this Fourm for anchor rodes, chain size, chain length, type of line that fits the gypsy, length of line and or chain. You probably should have the line spliced to the chain so it will go thru the chain gypsy.

Use 5/16” ISO G4 (High Test) chain. The link length is different on other 5/16” chain. For example, 5/16” Grade 30 Proof Coil, found in many chandleries and (and hardware stores) will not run through the windlass properly, the chain will skip due to the longer link length.
