Has anyone done a defroster upgrade on 2017 R29? Is the same defroster used today in 2024 models?
I really want a heater fan stuck in the same square hole. No stick on dashboard and plugging into cigarette lighter!

Hi There ....I have a 2018 R29. I hate the defroster fans.... I did model up and 3D print some plastic "outlets" that direct the air a more focused direction....I am on design #3 now that lets me adjust the direction a little. These set on the grille of the existing unit.. Still not perfect.... They only work for the Port and Stbd fans.I feel like the center one does an ok job.....

They aren't perfect. More volume would be the better answer..... I I caa send you pictures of what I did if you are interested..... just give me your email.

If you find a replacement that moves more air, let me know.

Thanks!

Rocky

is the issue on air volume caused by the fans pulling air from a closed box- essentially creating a vacuum? would it be better to spin one fan in reverse to flow the air better?

Hi Rocky,

My brother has a 3d printer. Could you please send me your design for the printer? I’ll PM my email address.

Thanks.

I don’t think the outlets are a sealed compartment. It is open to internal boat structure. One in reverse would not help since they are far apart.
