Anyone up for a rendevous the first weekend of November in the DelMarVa area??? I'm thinking Annapolis, or maybe cruising up the Potomac via Occaquan or Woodbridge???

I know its kinda short notice, but I thought it would be nice before we have to winterize our boats.

Any thoughts???

John

John, whomever you have with you are welcome to stop at our pier if you want an overnight. We're on Cod Creek just below Lewisetta on the Potomac, nearly to the Bay. Water and power at the pier, my TC255 is out for maintenance and will stay out for the winter.

Charlie

Thanks Charlie, that's mighty neighborly of you. 😀

John

Dottie and I on Therapist II would like to meet up for a rendezvous. That is her CWS weekend.

Rick,

What is CWS???

John

CWS = Compressed Work Schedule = work 9 hour work days and get every other Friday off. It was something started at NAVAIR some years ago and spread to their activities and contractors. It is nice to get a 3 day weekend every other week. Sure helps with the sanity.

My employer calls it a 9/80 work week.
Same results with every other Friday off.

Awww, I see. The Texas Army National Guard had something like that for the AGR folks. We would work four-ten hour days and have Mondays off. This made it nice to have a Monday off after a drill weekend.

Looking forward to meeting up with you, and anyone else interested,
John

Unfortunately I am going to have to "recall" the invite of getting together the first weekend in November. On a weekend that I thought I would be free, the "Army" has decided to make plans for me specifically for that weekend. 🙁 I will be at an undisclosed location for an undisclosed amount of time, doing an undisclosed mission...but you didn't hear it from me. 😀
Anyway, maybe we can all meet up in the Spring time, and cruise the Potomic river.

At least you have some advance notice. I hope they tell you what type of clothes to pack.

In the Navy, there were several times I reported to work in the morning to find out I was going someplace within an hour for an unspecified amount of time - I didn't even have a toothbrush. One time I was sent to a remote island in Alaska for 2 weeks. All I had was my flight suit and $3.40, and I could not cash a check. This was the days before credit cards.

The spring sounds good. Have a save trip.

Hi John,

Currently putting Strega to bed for the season, but a get together in the spring would be great. Perhaps the Eastern Shore, Chestertown? Where-ever...
