Depth sounder gone haywire on R25sc

Hello Ranger Tugs,
My depth sounder is not working on my 2015 25sc. It seems to work when the boat is in the slip with 8 ft of water or less, but as soon as I get out moving into deeper water (over 8-9 feet) it freezes up and blinks a random depth, say 8.5 feet .

The first time this happened was when I left the slip at a low tide and had maybe 4 feet,though I can't see how that would affect anything. I believe the transducer( though I can't locate it ) is on the transom, slightly to starboard and is internal (No through hull?)

I haver scoured the Garmin manual and found nothing that helps me know whether it's "settings" issue ( and if so what to reset) and I've reset the keel offset.

Very frustrating.

Check your settings for the sounder under Range and see what it is set at. when on the sonar screen hit menu. There is a range setting. If it is too low you will have the symptom you describe. Try setting it to auto and see what happens.

This reset of the sonar range range seems to have done the trick.
