Depth sounder location on an RT 43

I am going to participate in a volunteer project to update water depths in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries run through the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.

In order to do that I need to know the exact location of my depth sounder transducer. Can you tell me where to find it?

How far below the waterline it is located?

Where is it located in a fore and aft relationship to the GPS antenna?

It is located under the stairs in the mid-berth. Enter the mid-berth and look aft, beneath the stairs—there is a removable panel, and it is located behind that. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Are you describing the 1 foot diameter horizontal circular hatch that is under the mid-berth cushion?
If not, is there a removable panel behind the shelves under the stairs? I couldn't figure out how to get shelves out of the way.
