Hello All,

I have 2 questions tonight.

1. Are there any plans to create Desktop Models of the Ranger Boats? I would love to have one on my desk at work and one at home and the like. ( I do not even own a Ranger yet, But I will 🙂 )

2. Is anyone a Member of Marina Life? ( www.marinalife.com ) I am interested to see how that is, it seems to offer a alot for planning. I am also interested in their Cruise planning Module. I have the free MapTech Application, but seeking something more fun/user friendly.

Talk and See you all Soon~

I looked at the Marinalife web site- Looking at marinas which I am familiar with, there is a lot of information lacking.
You will do better on the East/Gulf coast using the Waterway Guide and Active Captain. This allows much more flexability, and you can get better and more valid information, without being "locked in" to marinas which are not as good as others.

As for route planing, I would not trust that to someone else. This is something which you have to do on your own, and take the responsibility of. You need to review what your boats capabilities are, what the tides and currents will be, what the possible obstructions or dangers will be, what the distances you want to go, and prepare for deviation from this, as well as weather routing.

Part of the fun of cruising is reading the guides, and doing the planing.

The easiest model to make is a half hull. Using a piece of 4 x 4 is a good place to begin the carving. There are shops which will make models' but doing it yourself is much more satisfying.
