Thanks Walldog... nice to keep in touch viewing all the snapshots... I like the one where the boy is burning lettering onto wood using the magnifying glass... used to do the same to melt the tar in the children's playground when I was a young rascal.

Certainly enjoying your blogs.

FYI: Pictures of the boats going through Dodd Narrows have been fixed up - not so much pixalation.

Herb and Willie:

Great photo's, thanks for sharing......although not able to make it this summer your photo's are turning the heat on us to make it for the 2013 cruise to Desolation. See you then......and keep the photo's coming

Looks like fun! Wish we coulda gone!

Ken and I are sitting in the cockpit of Shared Dream here on the Chesapeake Bay. As Pacific NW transplants only 18 months ago (but who is counting) and having been able to go on the first Desolation Sound Ranger Tug trip before leaving, we are REALLY enjoying your blog. We are on the trip with you vicariously through your wonderful photos and blog. Thank you! We can't wait to come back home and join the trip again.

Yea -- we miss Shared Dream II being here and that first Desolation Sound cruise was a blast even though we never made it all the way. I do recall trying to keep up with you and David's R-29 after meeting up with you both at La Conner.

Herb's blog is absolutely wonderful and we are sailing along with him in the same way as you.

Take care and have fun on your R-29.

We lived in the Newport-Hampton area for some 3 years while working at the Langley Research Center... very flat and with mosquitoes the size of dive bombers. Both our girls were born there. We almost bought ourselves a twin-keel trailerable sailboat there... but that's another story. We have fond memories of Chesapeake Bay... and the very very long bridge across it.
