The Desolation Sound trip! What happy memories!
My hunch is it might begin on the Friday before the last week of July, but just a guess. The challenges may be how many boats can fit in marinas that are large enough for us and that are spaced at good distances apart.
There is a an amazing amount of work in providing such a wonderful trip for so many great folks on our Tugs and Cutwaters. Last year we had a huge flotilla that required the Ranger team to work many hours every single day plus Patrick and Gail coordinated our time at Ganges, beginning with squeezing in all of us at Ganges. Patrick had great Tugnut helpers who were scrambling all day Friday helping us dock in a beautiful and somewhat challenging setting in wind with us so close together.
In addition, from Ganges onward to Gorge Harbor each group had a Tugnut leader and Tugnut sweep which was also a great amount of volunteer labor, working to keep every boat safe and groups spaced for safety, including through the rapids.

I suspect we need to give some time to the Desolation Sound Ranger and volunteer team to develop the next year's plan. The trip satisfaction has increased demand to the point where marinas struggle to accomodate. let's wait for the team to announce the changes for next year. It is important to the Ranger Tug customer committment so you know it will be well managed.
