Desolation Sound Cruise July 29-

I thought I'd post this info as I find it quite disturbing and is related to the Desolation Sound Cruise, and might be a warning to others to check things for themselves..
This morning I received a security alert from my Bank that manages my Debit Card. Gill & I had to use our Debit card in Nanaimo, Pender Harbour and Gorge Harbour as neither accepted our AX card. We do not use our Debit card for much as we try using AX everywhere. We have not used our Debit Card since leaving Gorge Harbour.
It appears that based on our Debit Card use in either Nanaimo, Pender or Gorge that it was possibly compromised at these locations as four (4) large online transactions were made today on web sites www.AutoBus.it and www.AirItaly.com.
Of course we have had our Debit Cards cancelled immediately and we now have to order new ones, and have to file a Fraudulent Claim form with the Bank for the 4 large unauthorized transactions. Boo hiss.... bummer. :cry:
For next year I'm guessing we will have to use cash which is a PITA, in order to avoid this from potentially happening again.
I don't know about others but from my years of using VISA, Mastercard/Debit and AX cards I have experienced fraudulent activities on these cards with the sole exception of the AX. Not only has AX been very safe for us to use in USA and abroad , but any unusual activity seen on our AX account is immediately identified automatically and there's no paper work involved and we incur no fees.
One year Gill was in the UK and had to use her VISA card as they would not honor her AX. The next day two fraudulent transactions for women's underware (again associated with Italy) occurred for close to $5,000. I knew Gill was not inclined to spend so much on those things, so it was an easy fraudulent transaction to spot. 😀 Of course, I did check with Gill in the UK (I was in USA at the time) first just to be sure before calling in the fraudulent use of her VISA card.
I sure hope others on the Desolation Sound 2011 cruise have not been subject to fraudulent charges as Gill and I have. Shame... :evil:
