Diesel Seminar at Rendezvous

Bob,
You make number eleven!

Count me in too-

Mac

I guess you are starting without me. Maybe with the expected attendees I should ask Yanmar if they are willing to do this for us? What about all of the people out there with a Cummins engine? I will also put the ball in Cummins court to hold a seminar at the same time. Will keep you posted on my emails to Yanmar and Cummins and see if we can get a commitment. Keep you posted!

My email has been sent to Yanmar and Cummins. I know you Tuggers will keep me on my toes, so I will do my best to make this happen. Great idea Lyman!

Mac,
Your number 12!

I have been looking for information on the 2010 Rendezvous. Can anone steer me in the right direction?

Dave,
The 2010 Rendezvous will be held at the Bremerton City Marina in Bremerton Washington on September 10th, 11th, and 12th.

This is the same location that we held it at last year. It provides us with a very nice facility where all of the boats can be grouped together.

The only cost to those that attend is their moorage.

We currently are testing the waters to see what the response will be for a Diesel Workshop. We currently have had 12 folks express their interest. Andrew is working with Cummins and Yanmar to see if we can make this happen.

We will have a potluck on Friday night. Dinner will be hosted by my wife and I on Saturday night.

Each morning there will be fresh muffins, coffee, and juice.

We will set up some "surprise" activities for all who want to participate. There will also be a group photo of the people as well as the boats. The photo of the boats will be done from the Manette Bridge. These photos will be available for purchase.

Ranger Tugs will provide give aways and prizes.

For those that want to attend from out of the area. There is a very nice Hampton Inn right at the marina. As for going on a cruise or what not where a boat is needed, there will be plenty of people that will be more than happy to host those folks aboard their vessels.

If you have any specific questions you can either ask them in the open forum or PM me.

Please add me to the Yanmar diesel seminar, I would be very interested in attending if we are able to make the Rendzvous. John Turner, John's Folly

Anyone know of an online diesel course?

Doug K.

My R-21 EC came with a CD that includes the basic of routine maintenance for my Yanmar 30 hp. I'm sure you can get that by calling your local Yanmar dealer.

In talking with the one here in the Seattle area, they said they offer maintenance classes for Yanmar owners. So that might be another opportunity for you, Doug, if nobody turns up online courses.

Good luck,

JtheK

John,
(John's Folly) You are number 13 on the list.

David,
Please sign Herb up for the Yanmar engine seminar. Thanks.

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA, DENNY OF OPTIMIST 😀

Denny,
Does this mean you want me to sign you up for the Rendezvous and the seminar? The Rendezvous will once again be in Bremerton on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of September.

With the number of folks expressing interest in this, I need to know how many have Cummins and how many have Yanmars.

Please send me a PM if you have expressed interest in attending the seminar.

I spoke with Andrew this morning and he let me know that Yanmar has said yes to the seminar. However, they will not be able to bring along a motor as the weigh 800 pounds......

The seminar will be held in a conference room in the Hampton Inn. The current planned time is 9:00 am to 11:00 am. I am sure if you have specific questions regarding your motor, you could talk the Yanmar rep into coming down to the dock with you.

Again, send a PM as to what motor you have.

David, you missed us on the list for diesel university...please add.
Thanks.
