The gas cylinder in my pedastle has gotten weak. The table gradually slides down and the cylinder no longer assist in lifting table. I spoke with Springfield and they said I would have to replace complete pedastal. At over 400.00 I am going to try to disassemble and match the cylinder. Before I get into to the project I wanted to check and see if anyone here has tried to service the pedestal and might have some advice.

Thanks

Hey Britt,

Have you tried tightening the bolts that are on the clamps for the table leg? Sometimes you can tighten those when the clamp is loose till finger tight, than raise the table and clamp the lock. I haven't tried rebuilding these so dont have insight to that. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ours lost height as well and simply tighten the levels and now it's all good.

I tightened the clamps so that the table would lock in place. Only problem is when you release the clamps the table falls. Also it takes two people to raise it back up. Just trying to make easier to raise and lower because we really like to lower on long cruises. I will verify that I can get a replacement and then attempt to disassemble and replace gas spring. I will post the results.

Thanks
Britt
