Dinghy

I assume you’re talking about the 8 ft long Fatty Knees with a beam of 4’3”. That length dinghy weights in at 100 pounds empty.
I’m in my 70’s. For me, I don’t want to need to repeatedly raise a 100 pound dinghy up on the davits. Just too heavy. My Zodiak Cadet 270 weights in at 82 pounds and that’s still an effort to handle. That said, Ranger Tugs are stern heavy to begin with. Adding extra (and unnecessary) weight to the swim platform just adds to the problem.
Bottom line is what you feel comfortable doing. The Fatty Knees dinghy gets good reviews for its sailing mode but not so much as a powered tender.
