Disconnect thruster and engine switches leave on all the tim

I keep my boat at a dock plugged into shore power all summer.

Do you guys keep your thruster and engine disconnect switches set to ON all the time or do you turn them off when you leave the boat?

Mine are off when I leave. Only the house switch is left on.

Best to leave them off. There have been cases of electrical shorts causing runaway thrusters.

I agree with leaving engine and thruster rotary switched off when not at boat. We turn them off every day when I’m at a marina on shore power.
For me the question is what are you using the house battery for while you are away - Refrigerator or maybe galley outlets to keep some accessory (eg handheld VHF radio) charged? That’s the only things I’d consider leaving on while away from the boat. If neither of those, I’d leave the house rotary switch off as well.
If not using those two DC functions, I’d just leave the battery charger on the A/C panel on and that’s it.....

Take a meter and measure the draw with house on and house off — I have found several amp difference (head, other stuff hooked to dc power buses) so I turn all switches off when not on shore power especially.

Does the switch have anything to do with battery charger?

My C30 has a different switch in the lazarette to isolate charger from house bank. I leave that one on. The charger goes direct through a fuse and that switch so turning off the switches that go from batteries to power buses will not affect charging.
