Displaying oil level on MFD?

My Garmin OnDeck system picks up a NMEA2000 PGN for an oil tank. It is labeled "Tank Level" and "Oil #1". Cold @ 86%, warm 65% or so. I am assuming that this is engine oil and it seems very handy. Since it is available on the NMEA2000 network on the boat, I wonder if anyone has been successful in displaying it on the MFD.

I tried and tried and found all sorts of interesting data. The only oil level I found shows as --%. Could be that I have to run the engine for a while to change that to an actual number, but if a value does exist on the NMEA2000 network, that doesn't really make sense.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Hello Steve,

The oil level will only show as a percentage on the MFD to my knowledge.

I personally like to run with oil PSI up so if I'm low while underway I can investigate as to why.

Thanks Kenny. I have not been able to get the oil level to show. I will play with it more while underway until I find it. Agreed on pressure. I am using one of the screens to show all kinds of info, ...not getting rid of oil pressure. 🙂
