We are new owners of a 2015 Cutwater 30CB. Our dog has always loved boating and would love to chill with us on the command bridge. We have not figured out an easy way to get her up there. Any ideas?

I second the ask. I almost took dog up there but fear he might fall down the stairs. I guess we just leave him downstairs in the cockpit or in cabin. Anyone else have thoughts?

We have a 45 lb dog and bought an Orvis carrying harness. His front paws fit through two holes, two buckles go around the dog with a carrying handle. It makes it very easy for us to bring him on the boat and up to the bridge.

You might also look at Raptor Decking or similar products for the stairs going up. It is a marine floor foam which is glued on and from what many say here at Tugnuts is a good product. That will provide good secure footing for the pooch and people too going up or down. See: https://raptordeck.com/custom/

Congrats! We just recently got our C30 CB as well and love it.

Our golden retriever “Sammy” can get up the stairs but they are somewhat slippery, and it’s the coming down that worries me while under power. I really like Gary’s idea of Raptor decking for the stairs. If it is too thick, Dbsea just redid his stairs by varnishing with sand for traction.

But honestly, I’m ok with Sammy staying in the cockpit, but the wife is not quite comfortable with him being unattended. He is 14 so I’m not that concerned!
