Is windlass on the same battery as thrusters for a 2017 R29? I am trying to diagnose a slow windlass. I did two trial anchorings today and windlass worked fine except pulling in the last 10 ft on second trial. I used 50ft of chain and 50 ft rope in total calm water. Clutch was not slipping. It sounded like a dying battery or dying windlass motor. Thrusters work fine. I will try combining all batteries with the red rotary switch. If that doesn't work then I assume it is the windlass. Any ideas before I diagnose it? Volts on all three battery banks were the same, in 13.5 range.

Can you get an ammeter on it while your retrieving the anchor? Compare it to spec for that windlass. If volts are holding at 13.5 is that at the windlass? Or at the battery? Could be somewhere along the circuit- switch or breaker or solenoid where you have a big drop.

I solved that problem by putting another battery in and wiring it to the other. I put it in the compartment forward of the main bank.
