We have now had our new R-23 OB for about a year and can report on our delivery experience and dealer followup. The results have been admirable, mostly due to the combined efforts by us, the Dealer, the Factory, and Tugnuts. This can be a powerful team. We have seen no disadvantage in being way our here in Maryland, except we have not had a Factory Tour - but we will remedy that one day.

Our Hero Red R-23 reached Pocket Yachts in the snow in January a year ago. Following winter storage there the boat was unwrapped and fully inspected, serviced, cleaned, fueled and waxed before we arrived for a thorough systems orientation and in water trial. Since we live about 75 miles from the dealer by land or sea, she was ultimately delivered to Solomons on a dealer trailer (we saw no need for one as she is being lift stored year round a mile from the mid Chesapeake). It would appear from religiously reading Tugnuts for a year that this process pretty much replicated the Factory Delivery Experience.

After several months of limited but nearly flawless use, Pocket Yachts picked her up, trailered her back to the dealership and returned her once they completed routine engine service and the following relatively modest punch list of warranty items we had been keeping.

* Elimination of hull discolorization caused by factory shrink wrap taping.
* Repair of minor bow scrapes from the lengthy coast to coast transit.
* Repair of a lengthy crack in the fiberglass in the v-birth floor that started and grew over time.
* Replacement of a damaged scupper drain connection that was leaking fresh water into the bilge.
* Replacement of the cabin door latch with the new version mounted with screws rather than adhesive.
* Replacement of two missing hull screws by the cockpit folding seat.
* Modification of the catch on the rear dinette seat back so it would hold more positively.
* Repair of dash fiberglass apparently cracked by an errant screw during assembly.

Since completion of these items the only new thing we have encountered has been minor fresh water intrusion into the outboard engine mount as reported by others in Tugnuts. We have caulked per factory instructions and are awaiting results.

Given the complexity of the R-23 versus her center console predecessor, we have been very pleased with results to date and love the boat. Thanks to the whole team.

Bought my R-23 from Pocket Yachts. So far they've been great!

Bought my 2014 Ranger 21-EC from Pocket Yachts, and yes, they were terrific to work with, very honest in all of our dealings. and very highly recommended.
