We've noticed over a dozen Ranger Tugs at the Port of Edmonds. That's great market penetration! With this critical mass, there must be some experience with available mobile Volvo maintenance techs for PM service. The Factory mentioned Jacobsen's but their association with Grady/gas/Yamaha does not really generate confidence, plus they have a rep of being so busy they are not accessible. Which alternative vendors would your recommend? Thanks, Hugh/Weatherly/D41.

Is yours the new Red tug on D? If so, nice. We're on C.

We recently used Jacobsen for our Volvo 50-hr. Overall it went fine. The only exeception was waiting for them to order Volvo parts. In the end I got them trough Kenny and the service went off without a hitch. They have keys to the dock and no need to move the boat. Speaking with the tech on the phone he sounded knowledgable and professional. We'll use them again.

Happy to discuss further if needed.

How about on Lake Union??

We recently bought a Cutwater 28 which we keep at Sandy Hook on Cultus Bay on South Whidbey Island. For the 50-100hr service I plan on taking the boat over to Port of Edmonds. I called Coastal Marine in Seattle, who are approved service providers at POE, and who specialize in Volvo Penta marine engines. They are also a Volvo Penta Rapid Response dealer. When I called them they indicated that they do not charge for travel time from Seattle to POE plus I would expect them to have any necessary parts to do the service.

Thanks for your reply. Glad to know Coastal comes to the work!
