Anyone out there using the e propulsion electric outboard? Thinking about making the switch from my 6 hp yamaha

I have one but have only used it once so far. Very quiet and light—particularly if you handle the battery separately. We’re happy with it. Your not going to get the same power as a 6hp but there are the trade offs.

I can't comment on the e-propulsion, but we have been very happy with a Torqeedo 1103. It certainly won't plane a RIB but has been very reliable and runs at 4 knots or so for plenty of time (a couple of hours with the larger battery, depending on the speed) for ship-to-shore and short range outings.

I would not try to go farther with it than I would be able to row back in worst case. The only issue we've had is that the control cable connection has to be made very precisely. A dry lubricant like Sailkoat helps. Don't push off until you confirm that it will turn on! (Not that I ever made that mistake, of course. Hmph.)

It is great to avoid the mess and complexity of a gas engine. OTOH it has to be charged every 2-4 days when being used and is $$$. Sometime I will likely add a second battery and maybe the solar charging panel (or maybe run the inverter and charge when underway).

What I read about e-propulsion sounds similarly good.

I like the Torqueedo as well. Defender has a great deal for the 503 CS with a 915 WH battery exclusive to them. You probably won't get on a plane, but the range is phenomenal. I really love mine. It's light, no more bringing along gas, no more cleaning the carburetor every year because of the crap gas they sell today.

They have a nice PDF comparing range and charge of the different Torqueedo models:

I use an EP Carry electric outboard, got it last summer. Small, lightweight and of course extremely quiet. No problems handling it with one arm while holding steady when mounting or dismounting it. Not sure of the equivalent HP rating but it pushes the 10ft RIB at about 3.5kts with two people and cargo. Battery charges in couple hours and lasts for at least an hour or two (Maybe more, haven't run it out yet) depending on power setting. Stores in the cockpit locker of our 31S. Seems to work well so far. Like others, I won't go further than what I am willing to row back, but great when at anchor.
