I have a nephew that has limited mobility, while he has fished with me numerous times it is a real challenge for him to real in a fish. Most of the time he is satisfied with the boat ride and the whole experience of being on the boat. I have been looking at getting a electric reel for use on the boat for him and also the younger kids that just don't have the strength to get a fish to the side of the boat.
I'm looking for reviews and if any of you have used these for trolling for salmon and bottom fishing!
Which models and pros and cons. Thank you and am looking fwd to your reply. Thanks Bob

Bob, I have a Diawa tanacum 500 f it's a power assist . I use it for halibut but it could be used for salmon. You can reel it or flip the lever to electronically retrieve. They are about $425.00 you can get them cheaper but be aware the cheaper ones may have Chinese writing on the digital screen. Let me know if you have any questions. They are on eBay and Amazon. I have set up my 21EC with two electric reel plugs in cockpit near drink holders. I run DAIWA Tanacom Bull 750s. I have added another House battery. In fact I have four batteries, one as a spare start battery. I use Minn Kota SS plugs. Both plugs wired directly to extra deep cycle battery with 40 amp fuses. Works a treat. Caught many fish.
