I've been asking some questions on this forum and been very pleased with the responses. So, I'm back at the well looking for more guidance.

From all I can see, in the literature and in the photos, the R-21 EC doesn't have either a temperature, nor an oil pressure gage. Am I correct? I'll look at the Atlanta Boat Show tomorrow to make sure I haven't missed anything.

If I'm correct, does Yanmar have an after market kit to provide them? I've always thought the engine maker provided the panel for the engine controls. With price of engines, I'd guess at least 20% of the cost of the R-21, one would expect gages to monitor its operating condition.

The Yanmar in my 1987 Albin 27 Aft Cabin had a complete set of gages in addition to the audible warning devices.

Thanks,

Gene

According to this

It's all warning lights and buzzers except for the tach and hour meter. Maybe there's a panel you could order separately and have installed or do it yourself. Looks like all the sensors are there, just not the meters.

Charlie,

Thanks! The link was especially handy. It shows those gages aren't even "normal" options. I suppose one could hook up something. At least I know the direction in which to proceed.

Gene , great to meet you at the show, Ill do any research through Mastry Engine Center in Tampa . They are the Yanmar Distributor for our area . 2nd choice in Mack Boring on the East Coast . Both longtime Yamnar distributors . I also have a friend that is like a Yanmar "special forces " guy that does the mystery problems around the country. We have some resources . Thanks again for coming ,
Marc

Charlie is correct. You dont have actual gauges but warning buzzers if it reaches above a certain temp or low oil pressure. These light up before you start the engine.
