I have a 2015 Cutwater 28. I raised the deck cover to check the engine but the decking is stuck in the raised position. I hear mechanical sounds when the down button is pushed but the deck will not close. What am I missing here? Never had a problem before.

Have you checked your trim tabs are up?

They share the same reservoir and you cant have both extended at the same time

both trim tabs are up. I don’t see any leaking hydraulic fluid and all hoses seem secure.

Can you figure out where the mechanical sounds are coming from ?

Don’t have any additional remedies but in the mean time, I’ve been told, that you can put the hatch down by simply pressing the hatch in the down position. Please let us know the solution to the problem.

You also want to check the fluid level in the pump reservoir. On my 2012 it’s in the starboard side on the inside of the transom. Not the easiest place to get to.

Hello,

You may have an electrical ram not a hydraulic ram like we currently use. The easiest way to tell is at the bottom of the ram there is either a electrical wire or it will have a hydraulic line going into a gold fitting. You can email me direct if needed, if it is the electrical style I would guess that the ram itself has failed and needs to be replaced.

Thank you,
Kevin Lamont
