Good morning all,
I recently had a low voltage warning on my engine start battery, so I replaced both the engine and thruster batteries located in the starboard side lazzarette. We have a 2014 R31CB and had replaced the original four house bank located in the portside lazarette last year. All the batteries were the originals. The manual indicates the two in the starboard side are the engine and thruster. When I disconnected the terminals, my wife noticed that the forward berth and head lights went out. She opened the refrigerator and didn’t hear it running either. (It doesn’t have a light in it and I was stuck in the lazarette.) As I reconnected, the lights went back on. It seems odd to me that these things are somehow connected to these two batteries and I’m not sure if any other equipment drawing from them. Shouldn’t all these items be on the “house” bank? Is there a switch that diverts this power? I’m very confused and concerned about this. Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Al Sr.
