I have a 2026 Ranger Tug 27. I have had the boat in the water for about 4 weeks in the northeast. Initially when I turned on the reverse cycle heater it would run for about 45 minutes before shutting down and giving me an error message, F2. The problem has worsened and now when the heat cycle is turned on the pump will run (its audiable) but no water exists overboard from the unit and it will eventually shut down, giving the same error message, F2. The strainer is clear. When I disconnected the hose from the thru-hull to the pump water came in. It is highly unlikely that there is a blockage at the intake end. The water temp is above 45 degrees F so I don't think its a heat/energy problem. Thoughts?

tks

The F2 code is showing because there is no water flowing through the A/C unit. The most likely cause is an air lock at the A/C pump. To verify and correct this, follow these steps:

First, make sure the A/C strainer is oriented straight down. With the seacock open, slowly loosen the strainer until water begins to come out of the threads, then tighten it back down. Once it is filled, turn the strainer straight up so the pump can pull the water down.

Next, start the A/C unit. When the pump starts, briefly close the seacock valve (for about 10–15 seconds) to create suction. After a moment, reopen the seacock—this should help remove any air trapped in the pump and lines.

Repeat this process if it does not work the first time. This can be done while the pump is running and is usually an effective fix.
