Exterior Canvas Window Covers

We took delivery of a 2025 R29 CB last May.

We were winterizing today and attaching the exterior window canvas. We had exterior canvas for all windows except the sliding helm, sliding passenger and rear starboard window over the dinette.

I understand none for the sliders, but it is strange that the port rear window over the galley has exterior canvas, but none for the starboard side. Not only no canvas, but no exterior snaps on the starboard side.

Anybody else have this or know why?

I think that the logic is that the galley window has a cover because if curtains are used when the burners are in use it is a fire hazard. Not sure why rest of the side windows don’t come with covers. Here in SW Florida we need every bit of shade we can get! Even with window tinting the shades provide a 20-40 degree drop in window temperature.

We have a 2023 R27OB. We only have an exterior canvas cover for the port side (galley). For the starboard side we use the interior curtain to cover the window. While phifertex shade were an option for the exterior, we did not order them.

Don’t know if the R29 is set up differently, but that is what we understand for the R27OB. That being said, I have considered making / sewing one, but have held off.

The fire hazard logic makes sense. The exterior port shade provides privacy even when using the galley.

Thanks for the responses.
