Extra battery?

I proudly took possession of my new r23 this past weekend and have been poking around to familiarize myself with the systems. Port aft contains 3 batteries (2 house and 1 engine). Starboard aft contains 2 batteries. I expected to see just 1 thruster battery. Is this battery for something else or does the thruster require two batteries?
Question #2. Are they charged with the engine alternator?

The other battery to starboard is part of the house bank. When they started using the soft start A/C, they added that battery for more capacity.

Yes, they are charged off the alternator. The alternator doesn’t output enough to run the A/C alone, though. On mine, I can run the A/C for about 2ish hours underway at cruising speed before the house bank starts to get what I consider to be low.
