Does anyone else have a EZ Loader Trailer Alum I (eye) Beam Trailer with the 4 1/2" wide by 7 inch tall. Torque Axles? 11k GVW

I have a problem with the main torq axles are touching the Frame and gouging it. This is a new trailer. I have been in contact with the EZ Factory and they are responding shortly.

If you have one take a look to see if the bolted on axles are rotating into the frame.

Tom:

I just checked and I see on my EZLoader trailer that the torsion part of the axle does make contact with the main I beam, on the outside leading edge and on all 4 axles. Mind you it is not by much but I can see the wear has made an impression on the I beam in all 4 locations. Please let us know what you find on this as soon as you get your reply. I've found EZLoader to be rather good to work with when I've had questions or a problem.

Hey guys,

I just got off the phone with EZ Loaders engineering department and they say that this is normal and it is purely cosmetic. It will in no way affect the integrity of the trailer.

Any questions, EZ Loader is happy to talk directly to you about this.

I have an EZ Loader Trailer, but not that model. I found most of the nuts on my trailer were loose and had to be tightened when I first received it.

I've found it to be a good practice to, when the boat is off of the trailer, to go around the trailer and tighten all of the bolt nuts. I've got about 8,000 miles on our trailer and have done it twice. I've not found any really loose nuts but most can use a tug or two to retighten. I file this under preventative maintenance or an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Talked to EZ loader today. They have corrected the problem at the production factory level. They also feel that the small amount of Alum that will be eaten away is acceptable. I does not look like it will impact the structure of the trailer. I will keep an eye on the damage. PMs are always on my list. We did talk about a boat guide on system for the Alum Frame, engineering wont approve such a thing so....looks like I am on my own....again.
