I was wondering if anyone has purchased a factory enclosure with thier bimini. Is there easy access to the fenders. How many door openings do you have ? Anything you feel should have been different / improvements?

We got the enclosure for our R21-EC. That is the first thing the Admiral required we get. The one we got was supposed to be the first one they made for use with a bimini on a R21. We found there was a lot of thought that went into its construction. It is very well made and goes up easily with one person. Instead of snaps on the bottom, they used bungee cord that wraps around posts, although you may not want/need to connect them. There is a door on each side of the cabin. The only snaps are for the doors. The enclosure is broken up into panels that are convenient to each section of the cockpit. They had to add another section to the bimini for use with the enclosure so the bimini would extend all the way to the stern. The extra section conveniently folds away to provide overhead room for fishing. The only thing we feel is lacking is a bag for storage of all the pieces. A bag is needed to protect the enclosure when stored, and make it easier to move it to the cockpit for installation. All-in-all, we like our enclosure.

My wife found some mosquito netting for use on patio umbrellas that she is going to modify for use with the with the bimini. The netting only costs $20 (we bought two). It should not be hard to sew on some binding and zippers for attachment. And it should stow easily. We will post pictures when it is done.

we were thinking of requesting duplicates for all the canvas access doors to be made with screening as well but like your do-it-yourself innovation. Not sure if we pocess the needle crafts skills necessary but would love 2 see pics of your finished product
