The insulation that's stuck to the engine hatch keeps coming lose. I've tried some less then ideal glue and double backed tape which didn't hold up. I suppose the heat and vibration add to the problem. Someone suggested a spray on product. Any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks!

3M makes a spray on adhesive which worked for me. Available at auto supply shops and elsewhere.

Hello.

I would suggest installing some short screws with fender washers to hold it in place. I believe we use a #10 X 1-1/4" length pan head style. You need to be careful not to go too far as the hatch thickness in most places is around 3/4". Use a 9/64" drill bit to pre drill and only go through the first layer. In between the glass is a plastic like material used for strength.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Bob and Andrew. The screws sound like the most secure way to go. As long as I don't get carried away with my drill 😱

Jeff, faced with the problem of wanting a hole which is not too deep, I use a piece of tubing large enough for the drill bit and cut to a length which makes the tube bottom out just before I get to the desired length. This has saved a number of expensive kitchen cabinet doors 🙂

You can do the same thing with a piece of masking tape or duct tape wrapped around the drill bit at the maximum depth mark.

If you put the screws in by hand after you drill the holes it will avoid over driving the screws with the drill Is a bit more work but safer..

We used double sided velcro tape. Solved the problem.

Where do I purchase a piece of sound insulatoin, 22" by 13" , for the inside of my Mase 2.5 generator. The factory sheet melted and dripped into the innercooler - all cleaned out, and ready for some new quiet.

Thanks

Andrew. You folks need to be using this.

It won't be coming off in your lifetime.
The auto plants probably get it in 55 gallon drums.

Levitation,

Thanks for the new adhesive. Always good to know about them. Here is one that is really useful. Speedtape. A two sided film tape with removable backer that is from the super glue family. Great for preassembly of parts that use fasteners, screws, staples etc. or parts can be clamped using only Speedtape. Makes bonding failures virtually disappear on properly machined or fitted parts i.e bronze door catch for swim step door.
