Has anyone installed in the cabin top the brand "Fantastic Fan" to exhaust warm air from the cabin? They are used extensively in the RV industry and are very effective.

Seems like a good idea.

MSU, I have one in my living quarters horse trailer and love it! Reversible and works great. I looked at installation of one on my boat but most are 14" X 14" and could not figure out how to install in hatch that is 14" X18" with out major work! If you can figure out how to install and make it look like it came from the factory/professional installation I would be interested! I have done a lot of modifications to my boat and I don't mine drilling holes in it but it has to look like it was professionally dune and not take away from the beauty of my tug. Let me know what you come up with. Bob

I talked to a Rep from Dometic the mfg. Since it does require wiring, I think that it is probably not going to work in our application. There is no place to hide the wiring like you can in an RV. I'll still keep searching for a battery operated exhaust fan and will post if I am successful.

I had two of these west marine solar powered fans in my wooden sailboat. One brought air in, and one brought air out.
They were good enough to vent the boat for not letting it get musty and too humid, but not really for people comfort. Don't get the ones with the battery, just the simple direct solar powered ones.
