We will be trailering our Ranger Tug 27ob to explore the San Juan Islands. What is your favorite place to launch and leave your truck and trailer for extended periods of time?

Primarily, there are two locations to launch your tug in order to cruise the San Juan Islands. One is the Port of Anacortes and the other is the Port of Bellingham (Squalicum Harbor). Both have areas to park you car and trailer and have good ramps.

A third place that you might look at is Blaine Harbor near the Canadian border. The advantage of this port is that you are very close to Sucia State Marine Park which would be a nice starting place for your cruise.

You can google all three places to get further details.

If you get as far as Friday Harbor look for adagio (our RT 25 SC) which will be next to the Washington State Ferry dock on the south side.

Have a great cruise....it is a great cruising area.

If you want to take in some sightseeing along the way versus just immediate access to the islands themselves, you should consider Port of Everett. You could take the Swinomish Channel past La Conner up toward Anacortes and on your way back you could come through Deception Pass. Lots to see along the way between Whidbey and Camano. Other than the time you're on the Swinomish at No Wake, with the R27 Outboard you're looking at a quick trip.
