Hi All,

The February Photo Contest will be open until 11:59 PM PST on 2/28/2022

The theme this month is "Winter Storage" - We'd like to see how you have your boat stored during the winter, or if you're using it year-round, show us what winter cruising looks like where you are.

To enter the contest, please send your photo, related to this month's theme to briandickhaut@rangertugs.com with a description to accompany it. I will post them in this thread as I receive them.

If you're not familiar with the contest, one participant for each brand (Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats) will win a pair of Ranger Tugs or Cutwater jackets!

You can help pick the theme for March here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3GZFX2B - I really appreciate your feedback. If you have a suggestion for a theme, send it my way! - briandickhaut@rangertugs.com

Thank you for participating in the contest, we always love to see how our Ranger Tugs and Cutwater owners are using their boats!

The winner for Ranger Tugs in January was Jennifer C.

"Winter storage? I’m confused, why not just wait for the snow to melt!"

"Shadow, our older cat, is a boat cat. He loves our Ranger Tug. His favorite place to sleep is deep in the v-berth every chance he can.

But he doesn’t do cruising with us. So his only chance to be on the boat in when it’s in our driveway stored for the winter.
He’s resting under the solar panel or sunning in the cockpit every chance he gets during the winter. When I’m working inside the cabin he’s always right there too.

First photo was mid-December in the cabin and second photo taken in early March with his “clown collar” on."

"This is very early on a recent Saturday morning (Jan 29) at the Des Moines Marina just after receiving the 2 day delivery/training from Ivan and Tim. My first "cruise" this Saturday morning was going to be from Des Moines to my home marina in Anacortes/Skyline. It was a beautiful crisp winter morning. Our new boat was shining so bright (thanks Kevin) you can even see my shadow in one of the pictures. My 4.5 hour winter cruise went very well and the weather was perfect."

"Not looking for more jackets (ha ha) but fits the Feb Theme of Winter Storage.

We agree with Bob D. What winter storage???? Here we are, sporting our Ranger Tug Jackets from the Oct/2021 contest and waiting for the snowplow to go by so we can get going...."

"We have been cruising the sound on HALYCON all winter long, every opportunity we get. These photos were mostly taken at Gig Harbor and Bainbridge (Eagle Harbor). If you look closely at the second photo, you can see Kenzo soaking up the winter sun in Gig Harbor Saturday."

"LemonDrop in winter
CapSante Marina, Anacortes, Wa.

"Here is a picture of our boat Denial and me (talking to a Deep-sea Fisher off camera) at Musgrave Landing, Saltspring Island, B.C. February 12, 2022. It was a wonderful day, although admittedly a bit chilly when not in the sun. Yes, that is frost on the dock boards. The other is me heading south to Canoe Cove a few days later for a bit of winter maintenance.
We leave Denial moored all year round at Maple Bay Marina, B.C.
There is something very special about having the option to go cruising whenever the soul requires a refresh."

"Salty Bliss’s crew are definitely 4 season boaters and we really like the winter season. What other place can you down hill ski one day and be cruising the next? The answer is PNW and Puget Sound! You will have the water all to yourself and it’s spectacular! Who says it rains all the time? Ok it does rain but the cockpit enclosure and the Webasto heat make everything right!

"Seaquel, Our 2022 Cutwater 32CB has its first NY winter on the hard in it’s brand new enclosure built custom for this boat in the back of my commercial property. It’s 42 feet long and 20 foot wide, covered in an aluminum ceiling/awning and wrapped with removable vinyl walls. We wired in “shore power” so we can spend time on the boat year round. With lighting, video cameras, and skylights..just add some space heaters, brew some coffee, and get the music going and we can almost believe we are back in the water in our slip in Mount Sinai harbor. Anxiously awaiting May to be back in the game!"

"This is my Ranger 29, year around slip at Kenmore Air on Lake Washington. The seaplane wing is less than two feet above boat roof. Mast must be removed from hinge and folded starboard."
