:?: I keep my boat on trailer, I do prefer fill up my tank in marine fuel dock. Recently, the fuel dock close to me is shut down. The other one is far away from my area. I do call the gas station around my area selling ethanol free gas but they told me they don't have ethanol free diesel. I search online some people say ethanol only in gasoline not in diesel . I want to know how many Ranger tug owner keep their boat on trailer fill up a tank in gas station and diesel selling in gas station really ethanol free? :?:

I personally have never heard of diesel with ethanol. Why would you want that? I always fill my tank at a gas/truck stop since your get better prices and better fuel.

There is no ethanol in diesel fuel, either on-road or off-road. Someone has given you bad information if they claimed there was.

We usually fill Kismet up at truck stops, while the boat is out of the water. Truck stops pump a lot of fuel and therefore the chances of getting old or foul fuel is minimized and the price is usually less expensive then at marina's.

Better yet, if you use your boat a lot, and shuttle it to and from the water on your trailer, you can save big time on fuel by getting card lock access at bulk fuel distributors. Marked diesel comes without the road tax or the marine surcharges we are so used to paying. If they don't have purple you can use stove or heating oil - it's the best of all - kind of like using Number 1 diesel - a little cleaner burning. I too fill up on the water only as a last resort.

As others have said, ethanol is no typically added to diesel. Someone may be mistaking biodiesel for ethanol. Biodiesel does not have the downsides typically brought up relative to ethanol. Noting stated location in your user info, it is highly possible they are selling bio/diesel blended fuel.

Don't know if Canada has mandated the switch to ULS diesel like here in the US. It burns pretty darn clean (assuming a properly tuned injection system). So much so that I stopped burning KleenHeat as Wallas stove fuel and switch to ULSD.
